Hi, I Have Notice 1 Year Ago Lower Lip Swollen
Question: Hi,
I have notice 1 year ago lower lip swollen slightly on one side without pain , now it seems to be in middle of lower lip when I touch it feels round bumps , color of lip is ok. But when I close my mouth front teeth touch my lips. ( Bumps are in clusters 3-4 together)

Thanks for the query.I have read it &understand your concern.
Such swelling of lip can be
- Dry,chopped lip following exposure to extreme temperatures(hot or cold),frequent lip licking or trauma to lip.
- It can be due to allergy(drug or food)Here swelling is sudden after exposure to allergen.
-It can follow trauma to lip while kissing .It's due to viral infection(herpes simplex) & likely to recur with any type of trauma to lip.
**In this scenario I would suggest to start with home care.
-Avoid extreme temperatures.
- Drink sufficient water & nurishing food with vegetables &fruits.
-Avoid allergens.
- Avoid licking lips.
-Keep lips moist by appying moisturizer/ white petroium gel.You can mix a dot of steroid skin ointment (Betnovate ointment) to it
* It will mostly go within a couple of days.
In case it does not respond/symptoms increase
or it heals but recurs repeatedly...you need oral drugs along with local care.This needs prescription by an expert after examination.
