Question: Hi. I have woke up with brownish lumps on the back and side of my tongue. I have had a cough for 1 weeks and in the past 2 months had tonsillitis 3 times

1. These swelling are mostly due to lingual tonsil hypertrophy.

2. If you can upload a close up image, it will help.

3. This is normal tonsil like tissue distributed throughout the throat. It also contributes to chronic cough.

4. Treatment ia the same as for tonsillitis/pharyngitis.
