Question: Hi, I may have taken a prazosin hcl 2 mg cap then another about 4 hours later. also, 10 mg of bystolic and 5 mg about 4 hours, is that considered a overdose

Regarding your concern, I would explain that it is OK to take 2mg of Prazosin three times daily.

This is not considered an overdose, as the maximal daily dose allowed is 20mg divided three times daily.

Anyway, when starting this drug, it is necessary take low dose as 1mg three times daily and increase gradually the dose in order to avoid adverse effects like dizziness, low blood pressure and headache, especially when combined with other anti-hypertensive drugs like bystolic.

If you are experiencing such adverse effects or you have low blood pressure, there is no reason to panic! Just avoid physical activity, have some rest for some hours and take plenty of water. Its effects usually subside in 4-6 hours.
