consider the use of anti inflammatory pain medication
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Pain in the groin region can occur as a result of strain of the muscles in this area or in chronic constipation or heavy lifting or coughing.
Inguinal hernia ( a type swelling in the groin) which is a protrusion or mass in the groin region can occur with straining or coughing or lifting heavy objects or in persons with chronic constipation.
It is due to weakness in the abdominal muscles in this area.
In the vast majority of persons, pain in the groin does not progress to a swelling/hernia unless the reason continues ( continued heavy lifting or constipation or persistent cough).
Resting along with the use of anti inflammatory medications would be helpful. Eg of anti inflammatory medication - ibuprofen, cataflam, naproxen etc
If there is any muscle spasm contributing to the pain then the use of a muscle relaxant along with a warm compress (2 to 3 times a day for 15 to 20 mins), would help as well.
Muscle relaxants would however require a prescription from your doctor. This is not likely necessary since the pain is improving.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
