Question: Hi I recently had start of 4 implants. 3 are on upper left side and on bottom right. The bottom is great and one on top is doing great. Have the screw in those. The other two I had later as the bridge decayed which. Was next to other implant. So now. The other two from the bridge , one has to cut. Into sinus tissue for a Boone graft. I think I got a sinus infection two weeks after surgery. I went on abx and steroids. Then it cleared for on,y a few days. Went back too allergist. , more steroids in clears again meanwhile I also see dental, surgeon. He gives me more abx. Cipro. Clears from steroids. And comes back in a few days. I have big left side headache. Puss daily. Green and yellow. So fins,my he had to cut in and drain irrigate and I lost bone graft material. So it will need to be redone. In meantime. Tonight after all is drained I stilllll have a sinus pressure and weak and tired. Lost 4 # in a week I’m going to get a3cond opinion on implants. But what could this be?

Brief Answer:
Looks like Sinus infection only

Detailed Answer:
Hi..

Well, as many a times infection from upper teeth gets into the sinuses causing sinus pressure, pain in cheek, headache etc.

You symptoms seems similar..

Although drainage is done, however it can take some time for the infection to subside completely..

Can you please tell that right now are you on any antibiotics or pain medication given post incision and drainage?

Also please tell that do you have any medical problems like Diabetes, blood pressure problem or any other medical issues?

Are you on any medication?

Any history of allergies?

Oh my gosh I forgot you answered. Yes I was on antibiotics a month! Off now two days. I’m much better. And I ran to dentist today as I smell something bad by another tooth next to it on other side. He said after X-ray. I’m fine. No new cavities and it could be small from all work healing. Wow. I’ve been through a lot and a lot more to go. But it’s worth all the trouble to have. Ice teeth again. I’ll be soooo happy and I brush now? 4 times sometimes more a day. I’m so scared. I use sonicare brush. And sonicare water flosser. But I also floss with real floss not too after all this. Twice a day. Do you think a waterpik is better to use than the sonicare water flosser? My dentist recc their toothbrush What is best to get alllllll my teeth the best. Even back ones.

And I also rinse my mouth now with salt water. The dentist today because of smell gave me rx for a antibacterial mouthwash to use ten days. Any advice for care? There’s a tiny chip in cap of a prior root canal. next to the implant He said today it’s tiny. Not going to be a problem and there’s no decay just the smell. Any suggestions I greatly appreciate

Oh and one more question and sorry for typos. So I have no upper teeth right now on left side. Right upper had a bridge that spans 6 teeth! Yes. It lasted 10 years plus as I ate only in other side. Now that side is gone. So. My dentist said until I get teeth implants I better just drink shakes. Oral surgeon said soft foods. Is some soft food ok too. Like soft rice potatoes. Very soft veggie and fish. And pasta. And beans if I cook them all very soft? And oatmeal in morning. I am having oatm3al every morn. Shakes throughout day and very soft dinner. Is it ok or should I do only shakes>. Don’t want to lose one more tooth! Ty for allll your help

Another question(s). I will pay extra if you tell me how. Obviously I’m very worried about my teeth and dentist are closed. I did get in one. He saw the chip I feel on the cap near my gum. He xrayed no cavities and he says the chip is small and not to worry. The bad smell? he said was from implant screw next to it. But that work was 2 months ago? Ok so does anti bacterial mouthwash listening protect me more besides my brushing 4 times a day and floss and water flosser ? I’m trying to brush hard in that crack. I’m scared. And should I only drink protien drinks juices Not put any food in mouth? Or super soft foods ok? I’m afraid as I can’t get to de test. Plus if I lose another tooth. I’ve lost 6! On 2 successful implant screws in so far. Others ruined. Must redo

Brief Answer:
Brush only twice a day and floss only once.

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Thanks for writing back..

Well brushing four times a day and flossing a lot can cause damage to your teeth and gums instead of being beneficial.

So better brush twice a day that is morning and at night before sleeping and floss only once.

You can continue with the toothbrush and floss as prescribed by your Dentist, no issues with it..

Next is that, Yes, you can gargle with antiseptic mouthwash and also you can continue with warm saline gargles, it will definitely help in reducing mouth odour and also help in healing the infection.

Tiny chip is there then it depends on which place on the crown it is present.
Also if it is near the gum keep the area clean but do not be to aggressive to brush harder in that area as you can end up injuring the gum..

You can take soft foods and not only shakes..
No need to drink it protein juices, eat your meals well.

Hope I have answered your questions..

Hi. I wooo appreciate this. So much. As I’m as worried about my teeth right now as Covid. They took a big turn for worse. And I want to catch anything and not lose a tooth: until I get implants. I want to be super diligent

So because of this I do have another ? And I will pay more and reopen this as soon as you tell me. Or give a large tip at end? I’m. It sure how this works.

Anyway my one more ?

Since the chip is top left front (next to front tooth ) and next to chip is implant screw that did take and won’t be redone.

Anyway. The chip on the tooth is outer back of tooth near screw and by gums. The dentist says it’s small but I feel it and the bad taste is coming from in between that tooth and front tooth. I’m afraid food is getting in that chip causing bad taste. And if I don’t repair eventually decay?

I need to know this as I will go even during Covid to a dentist that will repair immediately. If you think I should?

That’s what I worry everyday about. Please help. If I lose that tooth? As it’s root canal actually. Then I have zero well on front tooth and that’s it in the side until implants which is a long time

I’m appreciate any help please.

Yes I’m brushing lots ; and I do want to check with a dentist as I really do not know if I’m getting the area. There feels like a ridge and I do not know if the brush gets in there. In the back. I bush all angles hoping. But I am worried so I better see a dentist again. Even though trying to stay in . But there’s that smell. I do not what the smell is. It’s not a cavity per X-ray. Then what is it?

Brief Answer:
Might be food accumulation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
If there is no cavity but you are experiencing smell then there might be food accumulation in that area..

Keeping it clean is an option till you can see a Dentist..

As there is no cavity , you can wait for a safer time to see a Dentist..

Please write back for more information..
