Question: Hi, I recently had unprotected oral sex 4 days ago and afterwords had protected vaginal sex for 40 minutes until cleaning up with soap in the shower. Then 30 minutes afterwards taking a hot shower and throughly cleaning penis.

I have photos of my penis and there is slight redness in a straight line. The parter I had intercourse with could have been infected with herpies. Is there any chance of me contracting the virus? After 3 days the redness occurred. I have been masturbating 3 times a day prior and the tip of the penis looks red.

One could get herpes from oral sex and even protected vaginal sex however the image doesn't seem to suggest yet. You may take a blood test at 6 - 8 weeks for antibodies against herpes simplex virus type 1 and 2

The area seems to be irritated most likely due to tea tree oil. I advice you to not use it on genitalia as it may cause irritation. Fever is a usual accompaniment of primary herpes but recurrent herpes is a milder version and usually the patient doesn't have any symptoms at all except genital erodions.

Hello doctor, 6AA33C03-CAEC-4F7C-99A9-14565F720DD2.jpeg shows my current state. There are red marks near the top of the penis. They do not hurt or itch, could they be possibly due to the tea tree oil? The area is pretty dry and the irritation from the last pictures have cleared up as an update.

Hello Doctor thank you for your reply, the marks on the head have cleared up. However 23C452EC-0F7E-4E7D-97C3-F28E42F5D2BD.jpeg shows that the irritation is still there under the heads. When looking at the initial photo I sent you, the bump has been there for 1.5-2 weeks now. The area has been relatively dry besides water used for cleaning, no soap. How long would it take for an irritation mark like this to clear up based on your knowledge?
