Hi I Seam To Be Suffering From Persistent Diarrhoea I
Seems to be due to decoration of Lactobacilli following antibiotic intake
Detailed Answer:
Hi Crisnov006,
Thank you for the query. I have read &understood your concern.
There are many causes for persistent diarrhea, like infection or infestation of bowels, drinking polluted water. or other digestive problems..
But .considering absence of symptoms other than loose motions&past history of taking antibiotics ,also starting of diarrhea coincided with the antibiotic intake. I feel due to antibiotics, the normal intestinal flora, were destroyed (These are Lactobacilli..that help to maintain normal digestion&health of intestines) Absence of lactobacilli following antibiotics ,disturbed digestion OR can also help growth of bacteria in intestines & cause diarrhea.
*In such condition...self care helps to control diarrhea. It consists of-
-. Eating easily digestible food , Avoid fibers in diet, drinking boiled water to avoid dehydration.
-use oral rehydration powder mixed with water to maintain electrolyte balance.
-Replace Lactobacilli by consuming curds OR over the counter preparation like Sporlac granules .
* This should show improvement in 2-4 days ...continue Lactobacilli replacement for 8-10 days thereafter.
**In case there is no improvement OR the problem increases, you need stool examination to find causative organism followed by cause specific treatm
medication for full relief.
I hope that helps.Any follow up query is welcome.
Thank you.
