Brief Answer:
Seen in long QT syndrome. Please follow up with a bit more information.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

These drug interactions are usually seen in people having long QT syndrome. So kindly follow up with a bit more information.

Please let me know do you have any cardiac issue, history of fainting or seizures or any family history?

long QT syndrome is a heart rhythm condition, in which the heart rate increases rapidly. The condition may deteriorate in such people due to these medications and may cause fainting, dizziness or difficulty in breathing.

So Kindly follow up with these details. Otherwise it is safe to take tablet ondensetron and tablet Azithromycin, after physician consultation.

Hope I have answered your query, Let me know if I can assist you further... Thank you.

Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale.

No, I don’t have any family history or issues with cardiac/heart rate. I’m generally pretty healthy so hopefully this doesn’t affect me. I also took the Ondansetron at 1am today, and had taken the Azithromycin at 8am yesterday. I took another dose of Azithromycin 250mg today at 10am (my 3rd day on antibiotics).

Would i be feeling symptoms already if something were to happen? How long does it usually take?

Also, the only thing I do take to regulate my heart rate is Propranolol once a week every week for public speaking. Is this okay to continue taking given what just happened this weekend? I don’t plan on taking Ondansetron again (that was a one time thing for nausea), but I am still on azithromycin. Please let me know - thank you!

Brief Answer:
Continue tab. Azithromycin as advised.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

As per your detailed history, you can take tablet Azithromycin as advised. In case of nausea take tab. Ondensetron, otherwise no need.

You can take tablet propranolol as advised by physician. It does not show any interaction with tablet Azithromycin or tablet ondensetron.

Let me know I can assist you further...

Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale.
