Question: Hi, I was diagnosed with PCOS 9 months back. The diagnosis was done when I had kidney stones, and so an Ultrasound scan gave us a result saying I have a poly Cyst. Ever since this was diagnosed my periods has been regular.
I moved on to the United States, and now I have stepped into my first Winter.
Suddenly, my period is delayed by 70 days now. Skipped it for about 2 months. I got a pregnancy test done and it's negative. I have not been involved in any sexual activities too. Is this normal? If not, what should I do to get my period immediately. Kindly suggest any medicine or treatment that's available at CVS , over the counter.

Brief Answer:
It's not normal, may be due to PCOS, get evaluated...

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

As per your history, it may be due to PCOS as it may causes delayed/irregular periods.

Please let me know do you have any other symptoms like weight gain, acne, increased thirst, dark patches on skin?

For further assessment, I would suggest you to consult with gynecologist for detailed clinical examination. He/she may procure repeat ultrasound abdomen and pelvis and few blood investigation including androgen hormone level, blood sugar levels/insulin, lipid profile as per evaluation.

Mean while, you can take birth control pills containing estrogen and progestin. Along with that try to reduce weight. Take low calories diet. Do regular exercises.

Hope I have answered your query and let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

As per your history, weight gain, increased thirst may be due to PCOS.

These symptoms may indicate deranged blood sugar levels. For that you may require investigations as suggested earlier and tablet metformin after gynecologist consultation.

After considering all other symptoms, I would suggest you to consult with gynecologist for comprehensive treatment after detailed evaluation.

Along with that do all measures as suggested earlier.

Hope I have answered your query and let me know if I can assist you further.
