Hi, I Was Diagnosed With Upper GI Bleed Over A

Question: Hi, I was diagnosed with upper GI bleed over a month ago and I was given lansoprozole. However I do not feel like this is working it’s been a whole month now and I am still getting severe heart burns to the point where I can not sleep all night and I can not work
Brief Answer:
There are some additional measures to try
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sahniaa,
I am sorry to hear about your troubles. In addition to proton pump inhibitors (where you can take up to 40mg x 2 for pantoprazole) I suggest you try avoiding late meals, smoked and spicy food, tobacco, alcohol. Also, sleeping with your head rest elevated can also reduce reflux symptoms. Did the doctor describe any hiatal hernia on your gastroscopy?
Best wishes.

No there was just multiple ulcers found. I do not eat late at night I eat a couple of hours prior to sleeping. However my heart burns and my abdominal pain is just getting very severe especially at night. In the mornings I feel nausea and I feel as though there is something stuck inside my throat.
Brief Answer:
It could result from reflux
Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
It sounds like you experience reflux at night. I suggest you try raising your head rest (e.g. with a few extra pillows) at night.
Hope this helps.
