Question: Hi I was just wondering if I need to get a rabies vaccine if someone's dog licks my mouth on the lips and I'm not sure if the dog has gotten their shots or not? I know it's a family pet but I have no way to know if that dog has gotten their shots or not because I don't know the person personally to contact them and ask them.

Brief Answer:
You should observe the Dog

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description,it looks like a Pet dog.Generally, owners will.folllw the Vaccination schedule. If it is not possible to.contact them, then you should observe the dog for 10 days.
Most of the Rabid dogs will die after 10 days of biting a human being.
It's spread by bite and the saliva should enter the blood stream of the human being.
Simple licking will not lead to Rabies.
Nothing to worry.
Please consult your Physician for further clarification.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health
