Hi I Was Possibly Exposed To Syphilis Through Insertive Vaginal

Question: Hi
I was possibly exposed to syphilis through insertive vaginal sex. I have what I believe to be a canker sore at my foreskin. I am circumcised. Prior to noticing it I ruptured it.
Bled briefly now clear liquid is left behind. I was tested for syphilis rapid test 10 days after possible exposure the result was non reactive. Did I get tested to soon?

Hello and welcome in "Ask a Doctor".
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I think that it is a good news that you are negative for syphilis .There is no need to get test again because this test after 10 days is very accurate.
Please could you send me a picture of this element in your foreskin to define better the diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.

I didn’t think my question went through so I asked it again. Dr. XXXXXXX B XXXXXXX answered. He said it might be to soon for testing that takes several test. I’m confused?? I
I also took a hiv rapid antibody test which I understand was probably to soon. In your opinion why was the syphilis antibody test conclusive at 10 days.
Thanks you for your help.

Brief Answer:
Syphilis can be detected as early as 1 to 2 weeks after exposure

Hello and welcome in "Ask a Doctor".
I am sorry for my late response.
You should know that with blood testing, syphilis can be detected as early as 1 to 2 weeks after exposure that is why I sad that this test after 10 days is accurate( but not conclusive).
Usually for syphilis exist some test like RPR , VDRL and TPHA that is more specific.
Furthermore the highest accuracy and conclusive usually can be within about three months.
Hope I have answered your query.
