Question: Hi: I was prescribed estradiol and medroxyprogesterone and I have severe cramping and a period within 2 weeks of each other. I’m 56 and it was suppose to be for menopause symptoms. I quit taking them now, Is there anything I can do to stop this?

Brief Answer:
Analgesics can be taken for pain relief.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
These symptoms are quite common among females nearing menopause.
You can take combination pills of tranexa and mefenemic acid which is available over the counter, and give pain relief and control excessive bleeding.
However you have to consult a gynaecologist and plan for an ultrasound scan to rule out conditions like endometrial hyperplasia or fibroid uterus.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks
