Question: Hi. I went from long-term insomnia to constant fatigue and over sleeping in the last two weeks. I’m uninterested in work (I’m usually engaged, hardworking and a high performer) and can’t seem to get motivated. Tightness in chest

Brief Answer:
The symptoms suggest possibility of depression.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
The symptoms and signs you gave mentioned suggestive of depressive episodes.
Try to engage in activities and games with colleagues and friends. It will stimulate the production of chemical products called “endorphins” which in turn help to overcome depression and mood will be elevated.
In severe cases you have to consult a physician or psychiatrist and get evaluated. Counselling sessions will be enough in most cases.
You can try drugs like zolpidem( you have to get a prescription) after consulting with your local physician to get adequate sleep.
Hope I have answered your query.
thanks

Thanks. Could there be other issues? Also, what would cause or trigger such an episode and could it be so sudden?

I’m on Parkinson’s meds and while depression is a side effect, I’ve never had such symptoms and I’ve been on those meds for a few years. Clarity would be much appreciated.
