Question: Hi. I wrote a dentist on here already. I am currently seeing my general practitioner, my dental surgeon , and my ENT. In January I had two implants. Under sinus cavity with a bone graft. It was done well. But 2 weeks later I get the worst sinus infection I ever had. I am prone to these. After going on Medrol pack and augmentin. Twice. It was still very painful. Very congested. My doc even said my wbc’s were elevated. So I had a cat scan. It showed a big mass in that area. So I went to ENT. He did a balloon sinuplasty he said went really well. He got in all areas even with my deviated septum. It subsided. After 6 -8 weeks. So I went back to dentist. I am not even working on those two teeth. Too worried still. But I had a third implant that did take by front so he’s finishing up that . He barely goes in. Just to size the tooth to be placed And two days later>. I get another sinus infection. ? It’s almost as bad as first. I again go on medrol and twice again on augmentin. I’m finishing up augmentin. 2 days left. And it’s barely better. I saw ent. Last week He said wait. Let’s see what happens. He may need to do another sinuplasty: I don’t know? Or something in hospital? I dread hospitals right now . And I fear it is not going unfortunately
I am supposed to go in to finish up my tooth this week. And one on bottom. The rest I won’t touch yet so he’s makiNg me a partial for now. For that area
I’m not sure what to do first? Never had so many problems. I’m of course going to f/u with my doctors. But I wanted your opinion. Since I asked a dentist. I thought I should now ask the ent specialist too Am I not a good candidate for implants now due to my sinuses? Is that possible? I have 4 missing teeth now! Awful.

Yes. I’m having ct scan tomorrow. So I wil attach here when I get them. I’m not going to do any implant work there. But can I just do other work as I have a root canal needed on bottom of mouth. And on the side where the implants failed. One didn’t fail and the screw is there. Right next to front tooth. I’d like to just put the tooth on top so it’s not just a screw. But finally have a real tooth there ? That isn’t doing an implant it’s just finishing the tooth placement on the screw three teeth away from sinus area the dentist says. Is that ok just to do this? I hope?

Yes. Ty. I do saline rinses called ocean. It has bezalkonium chloride and saline in it. I read benzalkoniom may kill Covid plus it’s not expensive. My ENT surgeon uses it himself. He wants me to do neilmed w my infection. But I can’t. If it worked maybe. But I used it 4 times a day for first infection. I don’t know. Nothing helped but time and antibiotics. And steam. I’m afraid to do neilmed bottle. It’s so tedious and w Covid. I fear I’ll get germs. I’ll try to find hexidine gargle. I’m using listening antibacterial now. Ty.

Hi. I thank you again for this help. I tried to find Hexidine mouth wash. I found Colgate peroxyl? Is that good? So my ct scan shows no infection. Just a little mucus clear On same side as dental work. . I was on 2 rounds of augmentin. So my symptoms which is strong sinus pressure .headaches could be allergies. At this point both docs ENT and my internist he happens to be infectious disease doc . Think it should just go away. And it was allergies. I had my first implant finished second Will be : in two weeks
Is rinsing 1 part hydrogen peroxide to two parts water ok? I read it’s good for implants. And fighting cavities. And killing Covid if it gets in there. Pray not. What do you think? Or maybe just for a few days after dental work? As of now even though it’s only allergies. My ent did agree that it might be good to avoid sinus area with my history of bad infection Needing sinuplasty after the one failed implant.
