Question: Hi,


I%E2%80%99m a chronic Bronchiectasis and had lower lobe lobectomy. my mucus always has Pseudomonas aeruginosa with multidrug resistant.

My question: is pneumomediastinum serious if I have Bronchiectasis? should it be treated or no?

I can understand your concern

Pneumomediastinum is not a common finding in patients with bronchectasia .It might happen in those with severe forms of it such as saccular bronchectasia and when there is a fistula in the airways.If it is a small pneumomediastinum than no worries we don't recommend something specific
If there is compromised the saturation than oxygen is needed.

Nevertheless it would be better for me to see the chest x-ray in order I can help you better and correctly regarding your concern.
