Question: Hi, I'm 19, and male and have a question regarding sudden loss of vision in my lower right eye/peripheral vision. I suffer from migrainers normally, but this time with no warning a large grey blot appeared in my right eye occluding nearly my entire right lower vision and peripheral vision while sparkles like the ones in my normal migraine auras appeared. There's slight pain in my right jaw like a very very mild migraine. A veryfaint burning sensation in the eye. The vision loss and aura sparkles have disappeared. This lasted maybe 2 minutes tops. Is this all cause for urgent conern, or can i be at ease and schedule an appointment in a few weeks?

Brief Answer:
This sounds like ophthalmoloplegic migraine

Detailed Answer:
Hey thanks for the question . This sounds like an ophthalmoplegic migraine but still you should get your retina check up done as the grey area and the sparkles are signs of peripheral vitreous degeneration and in some case retinal involvement also . In such cases we always do a retina examination and if some retinal break is detected an urgent laser is advised . Hope my answer helps you . Regards
