Hi Im 38 Years Old Male , My Wieght Is

Im 38 years old male , my wieght is 142 lb . Like about 7 years back I suffer from burping and gas , I didn't focus in it or went to doctor , during this time I felt when I'm stress or I have anxiety the feeling of burping increased, anyway back in 2017 in March, I had pain in my chest and short of breath and I went to hospital emergency room and the diagnose me with the GERD disease and gave me famotidine, I only used this medicine 2 times a d after I saw myself better I stop using it , now before like a month ago I was in a very good shape and healthy I start to read more about GERD and googling symptoms I had anxiety and stress and real panic attack from fear of sickness , my GERD symptoms become really severe and I got really tired from anxiety and gerd , so at this time I start to feel when I eat the food go slow inside my esophagus and this made my anxiety real bad and out of control . Then the trouble swallowing become really bad after 2 days and felt the food stuck in my chest , and sharp pain in my chest and back my left shoulder , I went emergency room a d the do my ekg test a d CBC test and regular x ray chest , and all tests was fine , I start to take omeprazole 40 mg in the morning and I really felt better the only problem now is i can eat anything but in the end of the food , i feel the food stuck in the lower esophagus and I drink water to let it go to the stomach, but I have no more pain the only pain I notice is slight pain on back of my left shoulder come and go , I have been 2 weeks now feeling better but everytime I eat i feel food still stuck in my lower esophagus but not bad as it was before a month , slight stuck . What it could be? Cancer?
Not at all related to cancer, please see the detailed answer below...

Hello there, welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service...
I've gone through your query in details...
I can understand your concern...
Well, first and foremost let me reassure that this is not at all seem to be related to cancer. so please don't worry about that...
Now, it could be primarily due to GERD only, along with it, there can be some oesophagal motility and sphincter-related issues. The fact that your symptoms are improving after the Omeprazole is strongly pointing towards that also...
I'd recommend as follows:
-First of all, the irritants need to be cut down from the diet as a priority, particularly excessive sour/pickle/deep fried foods. Please substitute them with some fresh yoghurts, curd based products (at least for the time being).
-Carefully brush the tongue also. Our tongue harbours bacteria, residual food products, so daily brushing with a soft bristles toothbrush may help to reduce them, in turn, reduce the frictions and ease the chewing and swallowing process to some extent...
-Please avoid smoking (if at all do) as it can further aggravate these symptoms...
-Drink plenty of water throughout the day, don't let the mouth getting dry...
-Chew the food very well, eat in small portions, but at regular intervals (have 4-5 small meals a day rather than having 2-3 large meals)...never skip breakfast and always have some healthy foods in breakfast (eg. some baked slices of brown/multigrain bread, boiled eggs, oats, yoghurt, muesli etc.)
-Try to have your dinner at least 2-2.5 hours before the bedtime, don't lie down immediately after dinner, take a stroll around, maintain a time gap of around 2hours at least before bedtime.
-Since it's been 2weeks already on Omeprazole and still symptoms are somewhat recurring, it can be replaced with a more potent and longer acting PPI like Rabeprazole/Esomeprazole. Please discuss this with your Gastro.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take Care
Kind Regards
