Question: Hi, I'm XXXXXXX 28yrs, 5'5 in height and 69 in weight. I'm a badminton player and I started practising for all most 5months now after a break of 6 years. I'm feeling very difficult to do my intense fitness training and practise and that's because of my age my coach says. My coach recently asked me to take multi vitamin/ vitamin d, magnesium and zinc tablet which ia available in the medical store. Is that okay to take them and yes I can feel I'm getting weak even though hitting the gym and intense practise sessions and food intake is average I mean random food not a strict athelet diet.
Will I have any side effects if I take take them? If I can what will be the required dose for a day? Or you have any other options?

Hi there

Thanks for the query.

Usually this kind of fatigue and weakness is commonly due to low Haemoglobin or Vitamin D levels in the blood.

It would be ideal to get blood tests for the same. If Vitamin D is low, you can take 600-1000IU and one Multivitamin tablet daily for 3 months. After that re-check Vitamin D levels.

Keep well hydrated. Perform warm up before any intense activities.

I hope I have answered your query.

Okay doc. So is the vitamin d supplement enough if that's the case because I was been told to go for the magnesium zinc and vitamin d? Is that should be fine?

Zinc and Magnesium are good to supplement for nerve and muscle strength. Best to take them as well.
