Hi I’m A 43 Year Old Female. Over The Course
Question: Hi I’m a 43 year old female. Over the course of the past week I have been experiencing a brief crampy sharp pain over lower right abdomen feels almost like a muscle spasm. I’m currently on my period but do not usullly feel sharp pains. I had an u,trasound 8 months ago due to strange abdominal pinching pain everything can back normal. I also have experienced trouble with chronic bacterial vaginosis My question is should I be concerned about. Brief sharp intermittent pain and could it be related to my period or bacterial vaginosis?
Brief Answer:
Urinary tract infection is likely
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns. Following is my reply:
1) Sharp pain in lower abdomen at your age is likely to be due to urinary tract infection (UTI).
2) This is more of a possibility as you have bacterial vaginosis and UTI is associated commonly.
3) Since ultrasound was normal, i dont see any major problem.
4) Drink more water and see if you find relief. If no relief you may need to get urine routine , culture and sensitivity test done.
Let me know if you need anymore help.
Regards
