Question: Hi, I'm a 57 year old male. I take lisinopril daily for high blood pressure. Recently I started having a dull pain at the tip of my penis and a very weak urine stream. It is difficult to empty my bladder. I went to a local quick care and was asked to give a urine sample to check for clamedia and gohnneria even though I have not had any risky sex. I also take viagra a few times a year as needed. both urine tests came back negative as I expected and the pain went away temporarily but has now come back. same as before. dull pain at very tip of penis and very weak urine stream. I will see my doctor on tuesday, but am asking here as well. I've also noticed some low back pain, but am not sure if this is related or if I strained my back.

Brief Answer:
Urinary track infection possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service. I read your query and here is my advice.

The symptoms you are experiencing are those of urinary track infection. Possibly your tests for gonorrhoea and chlamydia ( sexually transmitted disease are negative but the urinary track infection may be caused even by other types of bacteria for example echerichia coli.
I believe you are having urinary track infection and an urine analysis should be done to and if possible an uroculture to see the type of bacterial which is causing it and find out the type of antibiotics which work on it.
Meanwhile you can have cranberry juice and lots of fluids to help bacteria flush out as you wait for doctor appointment.
Also you can have acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain and discomfort relief.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
