Question: Hi, I'm having an issue with my breathing. I am 59, exercise vigorously 4 times a week, in pretty good shape...still need to lose a few lbs. For the last week, I have noticed a slight breathing problem. It only happens during the waking hours. It seems like a slight shortness of breath. It doesn't stop me from working out or doing anything. I don't have any other symptoms.

Brief Answer:
Albuterol inhaler or Miflonide

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in Ask the Doctor

I read carefully the history you provide

You are currently using or have taken Zyrtec (antihistamine) and Primatine (epinephrine)

These are drugs used for allergic asthma treatment. Usually we recommend inhalers with steroids such as Miflonide or Flixotide inhaler twice for up to three months. It can be combined with Ventoline inhaler too according to the situation.

You should talk with your doctor to order to do a Spirometry test for you to see if there is an narrowing of the airways and after to decide about the correct treatment.

Or if you have Albuterol inhaler at home use it 2-3 times we day two puffs. It will help you

Hope to have been helpful
