Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,

I carefully went through your query and here is my advice:

Pain with intercourse can be caused by different reasons with sexually transmitted infections being the most suspected ones. The fact that you have night sweats also increases the risk that this is due to an infection as well.

Women with sexually transmitted diseases are generally young, under 45 years of age and may also have increased vaginal secretions, sometimes with odor and yellow to green in color. Unprotected intercourse in the last 3 months is a major risk factor.

You will need to see your doctor and have a gynecological visit. During the visit the doctor will determine the probability of this being a sexually transmitted infection and might also order some tests to confirm them (might take samples for chlamydia and gonorrhea) and might order a pap smear and a transvaginal ultrasound (to rule out structural problems, like masses in the uterus or other organs in the pelvic area).

If the doctor highly suspects sexually transmitted disease he might prescribe antibiotics for you and your partner before the results of the tests are available and sexual abstinence is advised during the time of treatment.

If you are 50 years or older than the risk for sexually transmitted disease is much reduced and other factors might be considered for the painful intercourse like vaginal atrophy for instance, but still, a good gynecological examination and a transvaginal ultrasound might be needed.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal if you need further assistance.
