Brief Answer:
No this is not normal.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
Throat pain is normal after bronchoscopy.
But chest pain and pain under heart after bronchoscopy are not normal.
In my opinion, you should get done chest x ray and ecg.
Chest x ray is needed to rule out any lung complication.
Ecg is needed to rule out any heart complication.
If both these are normal then no need to worry.
Please let me know
1. For what disease, you underwent bronchoscopy?
2. Before how many days?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Hi.. thank you for your help

1. For what disease, you underwent bronchoscopy?
I have a series of hemoptysis secondary to Bronchiectasis and they want to know what’s going on and if there is anything els to sample it.

2. Before how many days?
Just yesterday but I have an active strong cough so I’m not sure this is real pain or it’s my ribs

They took an Xray 2 hrs after the procedure

Brief Answer:
This must be muscular pain.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
So, in my opinion, the pain is mostly due to muscular reason.
So take simple painkiller like paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
