Question: Hi, I've had sclerosing therapy for Mortons Neuroma. Treatment started in Sept. with 2 shots of cortisone. Then several shots of alcohol. on XXXXXXX 3rd I had a reaction to shot and the top of my foot swelled. I went back and had 2 more shots in 2 week intervals. Now.... almost 3 months later I have an infected foot, with a puss filled hole the size of a pencil eraser and I'm on antibiotics. What the heck is going on??

Brief Answer:
Irritant contact dermatitis with secondary infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
You seem to have developed an irritant reaction to sclerosing agent which got infected secondarily.
You will have to take a course of oral antibiotics and apply topical antibiotic like mupirocin cream on the affected areas twice daily.
Also keep your foot elevated, avoid trauma and further injections.
If possible upload the pictures of the affected area so that I can have a clearer picture of the condition and can guide you accordingly.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
