Detailed Answer:
Hi Praju,
Welcome to Ask A Doctor service
I am Dr Aslam, Pediatrician here to assist you.
I understand your concern
In order to get a more clear picture, I would like to get few more details as listed below:
1. When did this start?
2. Any other symptoms like fever, loose stools, pain/discomfort on passing urine, or frequent urge to urinate?
3. Did this follow any particular change in diet?
4. Is she able to point out the exact location of pain(like below, around or above umbilicus; Towards right / left, or in the centre)?
5. Anyone else in family having similar complaint now?
6. Her weight, and what was the dose of Domperidone given?
Kindly get back with details, so that I can guide you better
Meanwhile, you can give her Ondansetron tablet 4 mg to control vomiting. This is better than repeating Domstal. Wait for 1 hour after this before trying anything orally.
Regards, Dr Aslam
2. No other symptoms
3. No change in diet
4. Around the belly button.. The pain is there..
5. No one in family is having same. Complain.
6. Her weight is 31.8 kg.. 3 ml dose of domstal has been given...
No need to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi Praju,
Thanks for the details given.
The dose of domstal given was too inadequate for her weight. She needs around 10 mg(10ml of 5mg/5ml syrup) to get any effect.
Since there is no any other associated symptoms, you can continue Domstal(10 ml 3 times daily) or Ondansetron(4mg 3 times daily) for 2-3 days. Also give Cyclopam tablet(500mg Paracetamol+ 20mg Dicyclomine)- one tab 2-3 times daily after food for 2-3 days. This will relieve abdominal pain. Let her avoid spicy/fried items, drink enough fluids and have a soft diet.
If symptoms do not resolve in 2-3 days, or she develops any additional symptoms mentioned, kindly let me know, so that we can mange accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query
If you need further clarification, I will be happy to help; otherwise you can close the discussion and kindly rate the answer.
