Brief Answer:
Needs anxiolytic therapy and psychological stress management

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what your fiance had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it most likely seems to be the recent stress he had been experiencing. In such circumstances it's always advisable to go for non pharmacological measures first. It's also good that you sought medical advice at start of such symptoms where there is most favourable treatment outcomes.

He needs to modify the general environmental stresses which are under his control. Non modifiable circumstances may not be changed but we may not have to change accordingly to cope with those but to monitor our response.

I would suggest to bring some spice in daily life routine. Joining any sports activity can be very fruitful in this regard. Sticking to TV screens or books may not be good option here. Dsitractors like hanging out with friends, taking strolls in green parks, as well as noise free places can be helpful.

Driving out to newer destination can be very helpful. If these measures fail, motivational Psychologist can be consulted to devise a plan according to his life routine. Group therapies may be helpful. If these measures dont account for his complete well being, pharmacological management may be needed with good anxiolytic therapy like with selective serotonin re-up take inhibitors etc.

Wishing him a speedy recovery. Regards
