Question: Hi,
My husband is having a nose block for the past 5 days. During morning hours it won't be there but by 7 pm it slowly starts and then around 3 am one side of nose is blocked and gradually a pain occurs through that side below the eye to the head and little bit itching in the ear. Last week there was little bit sore throat. After steaming and gargling now it has gone. No fever and no cough. What should be given as medicine due to corona cases we r afraid to go to Hosp. Only during night he is having this pblm. Morning everything seems fine.

Detailed Answer:
Hii. Welcome to the health care services. It seems that he is having allergic rhinitis. The nose block along with pain and itching is due to the inflammation of the nasal mucosa. Start taking saline nasal spray solspre. It will clear the allergic mucin from nose. Take fluticasone nasal spray which will decrease the allergic inflammation of the nose. Take proper steam inhalation through nose. He need to start tablet levocetrizine or allegra at bedtime for few week. All these measures will help to reduce the inflammation. It will be better if he can do some nasal breathing exercises or yoga. Please follow the above measures and review if you have any queries.
