Brief Answer:
Hello

Detailed Answer:

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thank you for your query.
I understand your concern.
Can take an analgesic like cyclopam for pain for immediate pain relief.
In addition try shifting to liquid diet.
In addition if he has pain radiating to back with urinary symptoms then there is a possibility of urinary colic / stone problem.
Also other possibility of appendix causing severe pain but it is usually near umbilicus or right lower quadrant.
Worthwhile getting an cbc, crp, creatinine, urine routine, ultrasonogaphy done to look for the cause.
Some times just gas bloat, constipation, food related infections too can present with pain but usually associated with altered bowel habits.
Hope this answers your query.
Please revert back sos.
Wish him a speedy recovery.
Happy to help.
