Brief Answer:
The symptoms are very likely due to skin dryness

Detailed Answer:
Hi....
Welcome to "Ask a Doctor"service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX

I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.

As per your symptomatology,I also agree with your doctor that it seems to be skin dryness.
Most of the times,it is involves limbs and is localised.
There should not be anything to worry about and don't be anxious.
Such dryness is quite evident whenever there is a season change.

You should continue to use moisturiser.
You can apply coconut oil which is a great moisturiser and emollient and has antipruritic activity.
Avoid using soap because it has an acidic pH and it worsens the symptoms.
Avoid sauna and reduce bath time.
Wear cotton fabric.
Tablet Levocetrizine 5mg at night time is usually prescribed to reduce itching.

If the symptoms do not improve, please visit your clinician for further evaluation and management.

Hope that I have answered your query.

Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.

Dryness in this hot summer also? I mean same moisturizer will help in winter and summer? And dryness will cause that much icth?
And why only on leg that to knee to calf only?

Brief Answer:
The symptoms are very likely due to skin dryness

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

It is quite common to have dry skin even during summers.
Causes include atmospheric pollutants, chlorine, air conditioning, sun exposure and dehydration due to heat induced water loss.

Most common presentation of dryness is itching(pruritis) and cracking.

Normal moisturizer will definitely hydrate your skin.Make moisturizing a part of your daily skin care routine.
Avoid hot baths which induces loss of skin moisture, limit baths to 10 minutes and avoid soap or use a mild body wash.
Avoid chemical exposure.
Avoid alcohol and caffeine and keep yourself well hydrated.
Drink plenty of coconut water.
Use cotton fabric.

Happy living.
