Hi, My Son Is 9 Months Old And He Is

Question: Hi, My son is 9 months old and he is having cough and cold from last 2 days. Because of cold , he is taking breath heavily and taking breath using mouth sometimes. We are giving nebulizer for every 4 hours based on doctor's suggestion. Is above medication enough to recover ? Please suggest.

Usually at the age of 9 months, no further medicines required. This is mostly viral infection and it will recover in 7-10 days. So you can wait for 5-7 days more.

2. Any fever or rashes on the body? No

Doctor told us that my son had heavy breathing issues.
He suggested Levolin for every 4 hours for 2 days
After that, 2 times for 5 days
Budecort 2 times for 10days

Breathing difficulty in 9 months old baby should be evaluated for asthma and allergic bronchitis.

2. Any history of allergies in family? Yes, I had dust allergy
3. Is there any whistling sound during expiration especially at night?
Few times very minor sound will come especially in early mornings.

Positive family history of allergy and whistling sound at night are more suggestive of asthma or allergic bronchitis.
