Hi, My Upper Right Jaw Has Started To Hurt About
My upper right jaw has started to hurt about a week ago and it's only gotten worse. I have difficulty chewing and difficulty opening my mouth to a certain degree without pain. Any idea what's wrong?
Temporomandibular joint disorder/myofascial pain

Hi
Thanks for posting the query
After going through history I am of the opinion that you are having either temporomandibular joint disorder or myofascial pain.
You need to give rest for the affected joint. Hence, chew on the opposite side for a week and use only soft food.
You can take some anti-inflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen or diclofenac (if you are not allergic to the above medicines) and apply some anti-inflammatory gel around the joint.
If the symptoms do not improve consult a dentist/maxillofacial surgeon.
Hope this answers your query. revert back to me if you have any queries.
