Question: Hi, My wife and my 1.5 months old baby were in in their parents hosue. Unforchunately on Monday my Father in Law was tested positive for Covid test. However on sunday night I had shifted my wife and the baby to my parents house. Since my wife and I got primary contact with the patient, right now we 3 are home quarantined for 14 days. same with my parents and my mother in law. My parents are 60+, they are physically very active, but still am worried about them.

Recently a friend of mine suggested to have 3 drops of Arsenicum drug for the month.

Is this correct/ safe, Can anyone have this?

Brief Answer:
No proven benefits...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your plight. There are various preparations from all fields of medical practice that are claimed to be helpful. However, there aren't any single medications that are widely proven to be helpful in preventing or treating COVID. Some medications like an antimalarial drug (HCQ) is used by medical professionals who are fighting the pandemic for their safety. Recently XXXXXXX medical and drug organization has approved a few antiviral drugs like favipiravir for treating mild to moderate COVID infection. However, none of these have received international approval as the chosen drug.

In a similar context, Arsenicum is known by Homeopathy doctors as good in treating flu infections. However, it hasn't received wide acclaim or approval and therefore has nil to very insignificant role against COVID-19.

In other words, most Homeopathy doctors believe it is ok for adults to take Arsenicum. However, we cannot confirm if will help in the prevention or treatment of COVID. I would not recommend giving it to your newborn baby.

As a physician, I am not well aware of the properties or effectiveness of Arsenicum. However, I have based my reply on the basis of a few of my homeopathy colleagues on this platform.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
