My wife is breast feeding my 10 month old girl. She has a chest infection. Can i give her Cefixime 200. I chose CEFIXIME as my baby was adviced Cefixime for her bronchal infection as well. Is there any issue if Cefixime gets passed on to breastmilk. and will it be passed on via breastmilk ?
Cefixime is safe during breastfeeding.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have gone through your query and understand your health concerns,
Cefixime is safe during breast feeding. It passes on to the baby through the breast milk but is safe in babies also as it is commonly given for respiratory infections in babies.
Your wife can have Cefixime for her infection and continue with the breastfeeding as usual.
I hope this answers your query.

Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Otrivin nasal drops acts only locally and can be used safely. Doing a steam inhalation will also help. XXXXXXX cough syrup will help in cough suppression and can be used in prescribed doses - one tsf thrice a day during the breast feeding.
Hope my answer is helpful.
