Hi My Wife Was Diagnosed With E.Coli Infection In November

Question: Hi My wife was diagnosed with E.Coli infection in November 2020. Her gynecologist prescribed 5 Amikacin 750 mg injections. My wife took the full course of injections. She got her urine culture done again. She was again diagnosed with E.Coli. This time, her gynecologist prescribed Nitrofur tablets for 7 days. She got her urine culture done again. This time also she was diagnosed with E.coli.

Her latest urine culture report is attached with this query. Please advise what medicines should she take next.

Why did the previous 2 rounds of antibiotics not work when she was sensitive to both Amikacin and Nirtofur.

Is E.Coli that difficult to get rid of?

Also, should Ciprofloxcin be taken before or after food?

E coli infection especially in females takes longer time as compared to males and it has tendency to recur again
. She has to continue antibiotics till urine culture shows no organisms
