Hi, Nine Months Ago My Father Started Losing His Balance.
Question: Hi,
Nine months ago my father started losing his balance. The doctors found that he had tumors in his head, and that they were metastasis from his lung. The diagnosis was that he had lung cancer. (my dad's 70, been smoking cigarettes for 50 years and opiate for 40). They started radiotherapy on his head, and again found a tumor in his pelvis and did radiotherapy for that as well. After, they started chemotherapy that lasted a while really (if I'm correct, six sessions of it). After the chemotherapy, they found this time tumor in his lung, so he did radiotherapy for that.
What is the prognostics, please, as we are not clear about by his doctor's explanations which are not clear to us?

SCC of lung is known to spread in brain and bones.
Lung SCC with bone and brain metastases carries poor prognosis.
So prognosis is not good in his case.
Life expectancy is less than 2 years.
Palliative chemoradiothetapy is the only treatment option.
