
Hi, Over The Last Week Or So I Have Noticed

Question: Hi,
Over the last week or so I have noticed my urine is dark brown/red after I play tennis or jump rope.
My urine goes back to normal after a few hours and I am in no pain.
I%E2%80%99m athletic and train very hard but have never had this isue.
Any advice or home testing I can do is greatly appreciated.

It could be due to inadequate intake of water

Hi
Dark/Red coloured urine is.most commonly seen due.to inadequate intake of Water.Please take plenty of liquids.
To rule out any Urinary tract problem,I prefer an Ultrasound abdomen.
Please observe after increasing your liquid intake.If the problem still persists, please consult a Urologist and proceed further.

To rule out any Urinary tract problem,I prefer an Ultrasound abdomen.

Thank you for the quick response.
It goes away within hours without drinking too much water and shows up again after playing tennis.
Is there anything else I can do to prevent this or is your main remedy to drink more water?
Also, as an Athlete, how much water should I be consuming and how frequent?

Avaerage person should take atleast 8 ounces 8 times a day.
Athlete should take more water and if he sweats a lot,Oral rehydration solution should be taken to cover the lost electrolytes.
Nothing to worry.
