Brief Answer:
Food concretion in the lingual tonsil. This is normal, this is not cancer.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. The image shows normal food concretion in the lingual tonsil. The tonsil, the back of the throat (posterior pharyngeal wall), part of the uvula, tongue, the upper free edge of the epiglottis is also seen. These are all normal structures seen in the throat.

2. This is a part of Waldeyer's ring of lymphoid (tonsil-like) tissue which guards the oral cavity and nasal airway. This lymphoid tissue traps food particles during swallowing, which allows the immune system to analyze the food debris for allergens. This tissue also reacts to local inflammation, infection or allergy.

3. Relax, it is not cancer.

4. The appearance of the throat varies from person to person. Whatever is non-symptomatic for a person is normal. Throat images are, therefore, one of the most common images shared online.

5. I would suggest routine throat examination from a local doctor, who may also do a video laryngoscopy if required.

Hope that I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

U have increased my anxiety by saying that I have to go for lylaryngoscopy.
I have allergy rhinitis due to which I m taking L Hist Monte but I don't have any discomfort no sore throat no cough. No sensation of foreign element in throat.itching palate and post nantal Drip in morning occasionally are my symptoms. I had once removed palatine tonsil stone which was yellow in color. But here I can't as I m not able to touch it.
My anxiety is cancer related and I m hell scared to visit a doctor. I simply not able to take thought of visiting doctor.

Brief Answer:
This is not cancer.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for following up.

1. The videolaryngoscopy is only required if the food debris is causing irritation, just like the tonsillolith you have removed in the past.

2. With videolaryngoscopy, this area is easily accesible and the food debris can be dislodged if it is causing you concern or is causing irritation.

3. Videolaryngoscopy is a very simple examination and is used when gargling does not help dislodge the food debris.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
