Hello and welcome in Ask the Doctor pannel

I can understand your concern

According to the history you provide you are under treatment for pneumoia probably. It is early for the cough to be completely disappeared. Usually it improves in first days of the treatment and with the passing time up to two weeks it disappears.

However gastric reflux is another cause of cough and it should be treated too in this time. In general it needs treatment for up to one month.

Hypothyroidism is not related directly with the cough or lung infection itself but it doesn't help in your improvement of the situation and delays it.

So I recommend you just to follow your treating doctor advices and try to be correct with your treatment.

Hope to have been helpful

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

As you explain in my opinion this cough now is mostly due to stomach reflux.
Please talk with your GP to order a fibrogastroscopy egzamination to evaluate better the stomach and after having the result the specialist gastrologist will give you the exact treatment at least for one month.
