Question: Hi There. I'm a 35 year old Male. I had a circumcision last Saturday (6 days ago) due to Phimosis. The healing process has been pretty slow but I have experienced a tiny amount of blood today from the wound. The whole area is still pretty swollen. Are you able to tell me if this is normal for nearly after a week. Unfortunately I have been unable to speak to anyone in the hospital that carried the procedure out.

Brief Answer:
Possibly a stitch broke

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

If it suddenly starts bleeding a week after an uncomplicated circumcision, I would suspect that a stitch broke. Most important is to apply pressure to stop the bleeding. If it does not stop you should see a doctor for another stitch or other local hemostatic treatment.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have further questions.
