Hi Doctor, I've Been Suffering From Non-stop, Heavy, Strange Sensation

Question: Hi doctor,
I've been suffering from non-stop, heavy, strange sensation of pins & needles in the throat and sometimes in the whole right or left half neck completely disabling me/making me can’t lead normal life at all.
The location of the sensation switches in between the right side, the middle side and the left of my inner throat/neck along the lining of larynx or the back of the tongue but it never stops. I've seen many doctors, done many tests without abnormalties, and tried many medications without effect. The most recent doctor I saw diagnosed me as sensory neuropathy.
By trying the medication of lyrica 1.5 months ago, my symptom soon becomes better. However, it is unstable, with some days much better that I can lead normal life, and some days bad/severe that I can do little things. I was on the dosage of 150mg twice a day for 4 weeks, and then increased to 200mg twice a day for 2 weeks. Could you please advise me how should I proceed with lyrica?
Thanks a lot,
Joyce

Brief Answer:
Dosage of Lyrica explained below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again and thanks for being on "Ask a Doctor" service.
I have read your query and here is my advice.
Lyrica (pregabalin) dose may be increased in up to 300 mg per day (100 mg every 8 hours) when it comes to neuropathy symptoms.
The maximal dose is 330 mg/daily.
The increase of the dose should be done at least after one week after the current dose.
In cases of kidneys function impairment, the doses should be adjusted according to creatinine clearance.
Discuss with your Doctor about these issues.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
