Question:
Hi doctor. My name is Yasmin.
Some background facts about me:
I am 65 year old woman. I measure 1.59cm And my weight is 52 kg
I am not drinker nor smoker.
I eat healthy.
My blood pressure has been always good and a bit on low side.
I do not exercise except going for a walk.

Medications and conditions:
I have been diagnosed with an over active thyroid 6 years ego. This has been so far well under controlled (for the past 6 years) by taking:
-Carbimazole 5mg, once a day in mornings
I also have high cholesterol which is controlled by taking:
-Crestor 10mg, once a day in mornings.
I also get occasional irregular heartbeat and AF, i had the symptoms for 20 years. But was never caught when I went to doctors. I was diagnosed 5 years ego when the episodes happened when I visited emergency room. I see regularly a cardiologist and none of eco test, stress test and examinations showed any other heart condition or problem. As preventative measure I take:
- Apixaban 5 mg day and night, as blood thinner which i started couple of months ego
- Quarter metoprolol at night.
- And Flecainide as pill in pocket when I have the irregular heartbeat episodes.i didn%E2%80%99t need to take these in last 3 months
I have also mild gastritis and on occasions I have stomach upset I take
- somac 40mg one at night
Other condition without taking any medication is sinusitis not too severe but occasionally problemsome and occasional neck problem mostly waking up in the morning with sore neck (although have been changing lots of pillows never found any was good) these also had them for years.

My question now:
This morning when I got up the bed I got vertigo quite severe. For couple hours had still a bit vertigo and was feeling lightheaded and nauseated, but mid day start to be better at the moment (in the evening) I feel much better. a bit light headed and and a bit feeling of pressure in my head and nothing else. Just additional information in case is related, a week ego I had the symptoms of sinus congestion such as nose blocked and running nose although was mostly clear, I had a bit of colour on couple of occasions and few times a bit of blood on my tissue when I blow my nose. This seems cleared for the past 4 days.

Brief Answer:
Visit an ENT doctor.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think this episode of vertigo and nausea is not much related to the medications you are taking or the heart and thyroid conditions.
I don't find it related to recent sinus congestion you had a week ago

I think this vertigo, nausea, lightheadedness , episode can be related to ear issues.

I think it can be an inner ear issue possibly being positional vertigo.
I think you may need to visit an ENT doctor.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
