Question: Hi doctor,

This morning I stared at the sun for a brief 10-15 seconds trying to reenact what my son did a few minutes earlier. Did I hurt my eyes permanently?

Please help me.

My vision is a bit distorted. The time of day was 9:30 am when this event occurred. Am I gonna be ok???

I would like to assure you that 10-15 seconds of sungazing will not cause any problem. However, since you have complains of blurring of vision, you should have a complete eye checkup especially retina check up. It'll be done to look for any damage (in case) happened or there is something which maybe we are correlating with sungazing.

I went to a specialist and they did a digital photo of eye and it looked good. So your sure that the sun gazing, which was about 5 seconds didn’t cause any issue? I’m scared.
