Question: Hi dr so one of my daughters came to visit and after visiting she happened to have left one of her pregnancy test kits at my house and stupid me thought hmm rather than throwing it away as it was due to expire in 2 months I decided to use it and to my XXXXXXX it showed a faint positive line. (Could it be a false positve)?. in shock as I’m 66 nearlt 67 and last time I had my period was 6 years ago. Never bled after that. Ran to the shop and bought two more test kits which showed another very very faint near invisible line then I decided to buy a digital one which said not pregnant. This has left me very confused. I did have sex 3 months ago without any contraception but at my age surely how can I be pregnant? If anyone can give me any answers as to why this is happening I’d really appreciate it.

Brief Answer:
Unlikely to be pregnant

Detailed Answer:
HI
I can understand your situation.
Once you have attained menopause, unlikely to be pregnant .That too the card is showing faint line which is not confirmative.
If an ultrasound scan was not done in recent years ,you may get it done as part of general gynaec check up.
Hope my answer helps you

Thanks for the response dr. Ill definitely get an ultrasound arranged. Just a random question, what are the odds of a 66 years old woman getting pregnant naturally? And would it be normal for a 66 year old woman to still be regularly menstruating? cheers

Thanks, i am not menstruating i was just curious. i thought exactly the same. Besides i would assume the risk of a misscarriage would be 98%.
