Hi, For My Mother (60 Yr), TKR (for OA) Was
Question: Hi, for my mother (60 yr), TKR (for OA) was done on Sep 01 2018. Still, the pin sutures are in place and doctors review is scheduled on 15th Sep 2018.
She also has diabetic (with neuropathy most likely), chronic gastritis, ososteoporosis, disc bulge in lumber region.
10 days after discharge from hospital, the issue we are facing is that the pin suture is making much pain despite taking Ultracet and Hifenac (both) twice a day. Also, in the medics, aspirin once daily is also being given.
Operating doc have reviewed and rescanned and found that there is no any sign of infection and need not to worry. They had given Diclofenac injection when we revisited for unbearable pain.
Our query was that how can we make the pain level within bearable range (point to note is that already taking these two painkillers twice daily)?

Brief Answer:
Dose escalation of analgesics is required
Detailed Answer:
Hello Ma'am
I can certainly understand your concern
I have worked through your attached query in detail
Since there is no infection as confirmed by your doctor, increasing the dosage and frequency of analgesics will help to control the pain.
Both the pain killers can be increased to thrice a day dosing for few days until pain is controlled.
Please check with your doctor if he shares my view and if can prescribe these changes to control the pain.
Thank you
