Hi Gn I’m Cmv Positive IGG And I Recently Found

Question: Hi gn I’m cmv positive IGG and I recently found out I am 9 weeks pregnant .i only found out in December however I had the same symptoms in March and in XXXXXXX will this affect the babies
Brief Answer:
Only recent infection matters
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for using the Ask a Doctor service.
I need to know the CMV IgM status since it indicates recent infection. If IgM is negative you have no need to worry. IgG simply indicates that you had a CMV infection at some point of your life. Unless you have a recent infection, there is no threat to your baby.

I wasn’t tested for IGM only IGG but the Titres were very high they were 500 ,however because I would have had the same symptoms in March and XXXXXXX ,I didn’t know what was making me sick at first only in December the doctor decided to do the torch test.So will I still bd safe ?

So my first infection that I knew about would have been back in March ,then again In XXXXXXX and then December, and this is when I actually got tested,I had the same stall three times but I just didn’t know what it was
Brief Answer:
Get CMV IgM level tested
Detailed Answer:
CMV IgG does not convey anything. You could have got a high titre from a previous infection. Get the CMV IgM level tested and let me know.
