Brief Answer:
Seems to be inflammation around scar, apply topical antibiotic & steroid
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query and you seem to have developed an inflammation around the scar.
I would recommend you to apply a topical steroid and antibiotic combination like cortisone cream and neosporin ointment on the affected area twice daily for 7-8 days.
This should improve it.

I was thinking of doing this but will this affect the scar and make it weaker? When I called the office one of the nurses told me it may make the scar weaker?
Brief Answer:
Won’t affect the scar and make it weaker
Detailed Answer:
I don’t think this will make the scar weaker.
It is a mild steroid which won’t affect the scar if applied for few days.
