Question: Hi, i have a question about STD transmission. I am male and was given prostate massage by a new partner. On top of normal lubricant she used a bit of saliva during the process. What degree of risk does this practice carry for std transmission?

Thank you in advance for your help

Brief Answer:
No risk of STD transmission

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using "Ask a doctor" service.

From what you are describing there is no risk of STD transmission because the STDs are transmitted through contact with the genital organ which is infected. In this case, there is no contact with another genital organ or those fluids. Unless your partner had a very clear open herpes would in his lips, then I can say you may get herpes simplex. But since you do not mention it, I guess that is not the case.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
