Hi I Have Been Experiencing Indigestion For Around A Month

Question: Hi i have been experiencing indigestion for around a month now after never exp this before so is not normal. My work doctor prescribed Omeprazole 40mg plus amoxicillin for stomach bacteria and it had settled somewhat but seems to be back again now albeit not so bad. I work remote in Asia so cannot see my usual Doctor til back in Australia next week.
It started off mostly after eating but now seems not isolated to food can be just random. I have no other symptoms but did lose a couple kg as my weight is normal steady at 90-92kg but was around 88kg last week. Daily exercise is fine no issues

Brief Answer:
Is there a pattern related to food items
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX schock,
Is there a pattern to the indigestion, e.g. after intake of certain food items (spicy foods, wheat or products)?
Do you have difficulty swallowing food or fluids?
In addition to omeprazole and amoxicillin, simeticone can be used for indigestion.
Looking forward to hearing from you again. Best wishes.

Hi no there is no pattern unfortunately and my diet hasn't really changed and I have never had an issue with spicy food having worked in SE Asia for a long time. Also when i am at work on rotation i don't eat spicy food as there isn't alot available the food at the camp where we work (Mine site) is quite varied but stable. This is the main reason for my concerns to this problem, as there is no pattern and just started out of the blue and does not appear to be food related. Thanks
Brief Answer:
I suggest Simethicone
Detailed Answer:
Hi again XXXXXXX
It could be a case of small bowel bacterial overgrowth. Amoxicillin would not necessarily treat it, instead, Metronidazole and/or Cefuroxime may help.
For symptomatic relief, I'd suggest Simethicone for a few days to weeks.
Let me know if it helps.
