Hi Is This A Pimple Or A Cold Sore ?

Question: Hi is this a pimple or a Cold sore ? It tingels s bit and have clear fluid. But looks more like pimple and came Today . I ask because i have a 7 week old baby and have heard Cold sores a dangerous to babies so if it is a Cold sore do I need to do something ?

I have gone through your complaints and reviewed the attached photograph.It is not looking like a cold sore. It seems to be a pimple. I don’t think it is dangerous for the baby.

you may apply topical antibiotic even if it turns out to be cold sore

Detailed Answer:
Even if it turns out to be cold sore you need to apply a topical antibiotic like Fusidic acid cream on the affected area twice daily for a few days.

Also, please avoid kissing the child till the time it resolves and wash your hands frequently every time before dealing with the child.
